Rhubarb

Rhubarb? Why Rhubarb?

Rhubarb is a new section in SkillsYouNeed, it's pretty random and will contain your articles, essays and observations about the skills you need.

This is how it works...

You submit your work (at the moment via low-tech e-mail attachment). We're working on a more high-tech solution right now.

We review your submission and if all is well we publish it for you here in the Rhubarb section of SkillsYouNeed.

Of course it's not quite that easy...

We're not just going to publish anything!

Ideally your submission should be a minimum of 500 words. We'll do our best to read most digital formats but prefer Word (.doc or .docx) documents.

Your work needs to be original and referenced, if applicable (all submissions will be run through anti-plagarism software before publishing).

We will proofread and make minor edits to submissions (where appropriate) but we don't have the time to spend hours correcting poor language or grammar. See our Writing section for some tips.

You can remain anonymous or not. We will publish your name, picture, e-mail address and/or web address if you give us permission or we'll keep your identity a complete secret - it's up to you.

Why would I want to submit?

For fun? To show off your writing skills? To drive home a point you want to make? To boost your ego and see your work online?

Perhaps you're a student who has written an essay or dissertation about something skills-related that you are proud of and want to share with the world?

Maybe you're a trainer who would like more exposure to their website?

You may just have been passing by, seen this and felt inspired to write something?

Rhubarb

What's in it for me?

Fame, fortune and a feeling of satisfaction that something you have written is online. If you have provided a link or e-mail address with your submission then we hope that your readers will click through to your website. Your link at SkillsYouNeed will be seen by search engines and help boost your ranking.

What's in it for us?

By including your work we add some extra interest to SkillsYouNeed. Your submission will contain ads (like on this page) which help to cover the costs of hosting, editing and keeping SkillsYouNeed fresh and interesting.

Tell us what you think?

Ask us questions or submit something. Rhubarb is a new idea - it may not work, what do you think? We look forward to hearing from you. hello@skillsyouneed.co.uk.

Give me Rhubarb:

Our first Rhubarb submission is called 'Philosophy and Rhubarb' written by the late Peter Allison. This essay is a philosopher's view of language and was the inspiration for the name of this section.
